SAB Miller, whose brands include Miller Genuine Draft, Pilsner Urquell and Grolsch, has called on the brewing industry to improve disclosure on environmental and social impacts as it launches an online service providing detailed information on the impact of its operations around the world.
Any visitor to www.sabmiller.com can now see which of its businesses are performing well and also where improvements are needed across its ten sustainable development priorities, an initiative dubbed 'Ten priorities. One future'. These include improving water efficiencies, reducing greenhouse emissions and discouraging irresponsible drinking.
SAB Miller has also developed the Sustainability Assessment Matrix to measure progress against each of its ten development priorities. Global head of sustainable development Andy Wales said: 'We cannot simply celebrate the success stories; we also need to be honest about areas of weakness. This interactive tool lets customers, employees, partners and communities see how we are doing in those areas that matter most for them.'
