The number of jobs in digital production has risen by 60 per cent since January this year, according to findings from marketing and communications recruitment agency Major Players.
Off-line agencies seeking to get a foot in the digital door are increasingly looking to secure the best in digital talent. With just one in five project managers harbouring strong digital skills, freelancers are increasingly in demand both for isolated digital projects and for companies wanting to dip a toe in the social media waters before investing in a full-time staff.
With communications campaigns increasingly going online, now is the time to future proof digital and technical talent, the research concludes.
Rosie Watherston, recruiter for digital client services at Major Players, said: 'Large traditional agencies are already recruiting digital talent in order to build and establish their own digital teams in-house - they want to mature as a business and optimise their reach within the market.'
