After the anticlimax of last year's climate talks, the city looks to a more positive future

The Danish capital is seeking to rebrand itself as an open, international destination with a new name - COPENhagen - in a bid to boost commerce and tourism.
When Copenhagen hosted the COP15 climate conference last year, the city was dubbed Hopenhagen in anticipation of a powerful international alliance on climate change. When the hoped-for treaty failed to materialise, the city acquired a number of less flattering epithets, including Nopenhagen and Flopenhagen.
Inspired in part by the success of Stockholm's rebranding as the 'Capital of Scandinavia', the Danish capital is looking to highlight its hospitality and openness to internationalisation with the brand COPENhagen.
One city official said: 'We believe that by sticking with this new brand we will arouse international interest in several different sectors, such as tourism and business, and will attract foreign workers and students, which will benefit the whole city.'
