A new forum for designers to share their work in miniature

Louisa Coward is the editorial intern at CorpComms Magazine

Dribbble provides a digital forum where designers can share tiny screenshots of their work and receive feedback.
Whilst the site names all evoke basketball moves, with members called 'players', images 'shots', and responses 'rebounds', on Dribbble the smaller and shorter your contribution the better.
The challenge facing artists, musicians and designers has long been how to keep work under wraps in the design process whilst still benefitting from the feedback of fellow members of the craft. Dribbble's solution is to keep the images tiny - a maximum of 400×300 pixels - just glimpses of the final design or application, soliciting responses to fragments of works in progress. The result can act as a tantalising advertisement for the final creation.
Members receive only 24 'shots' or images when they subscribe to ensure they are selective in what they showcase. Users can then comment on and suggest improvements to others' work with a 'rebound'.
The site is currently invite-only and its co-founder, Dan Cederholm, said it will probably remain so: 'Can't say for certain of course, but for now, absolutely.'
