Airport rebrands

Bristol International Airport is to drop its middle name and gain a new logo as part of a rebranding exercise.

The Bristol International brand was launched in 1997 in a bid to boost the airport's status as an overseas operator. But now, with 100 international destinations and nearly six million passengers expected to pass through the terminal this year, airport bosses feel its international status is well established and no longer needs emphasising.

The rebrand comes ahead of a decision next month over whether to go ahead with £150 million expansion plans, to include an enlarged terminal and improved transport links. Passenger numbers are expected to rise to 10 million a year by 2020.
