Half the population check social media in bed

People are obsessed with social media, unable to detach from it even once in bed at night, according to an independent study commissioned by Retrevo.
Of the 1,000 respondents, nearly half admitted to checking or updating social networking sites if they wake up in the night, or before getting up in the morning. iPhone users are the biggest culprits, with nearly a quarter relying on Facebook and Twitter for their morning news fix.
Nearly half, 49 per cent, of under 25s would pick up a message during a meal, while one in four would read a message on the toilet and one in ten would allow a message to interrupt sex. Over 25s were generally more conservative, with nearly two thirds saying they dislike all interruptions.
