State of online market

The average duration of video watched online last year was one minute and 31 seconds, and 49 per cent of viewers will watch through to the end, according to new figures.

Birmingham-based online video platform Buto, which delivers five videos every second, collated the statistics from its own data to mark its first anniversary.

The most popular social network with which to share video was Facebook, followed by Twitter. The Online Publishers Association found that 52 per cent of viewers take a related action after watching video.
