Soldiers and marines do tweet

American troops can now use social networking sites after the Department of Defence reversed an earlier ban. However, they are still prohibited from revealing details of operations and commanders have the right to shut down tweeting soldiers, marines or airmen if they have concerns or if their usage puts too much pressure on the forces' Internet connections.
