A new website that allows Londoners to report environmental blackspots such as graffiti or fly tipping to their councils has been launched.
LoveCleanStreets.org allows Londoners to photograph eyesores on their smartphones, and automatically geo-tags the location on an online map, alerting the relevant council.
Progress on the problem can be tracked online. Only when it is resolved, and the website notified by the council, will the tag be removed from the map.
The London-wide initiative follows the success of a similar scheme in Lewisham, which was created by the council's head of environment Nigel Tyrell six years ago.
LoveLewisham.org was launched in 2005. Complaints about graffiti have since fallen 30 per cent, while clean up times and resident satisfaction levels have both improved.
