British Heart Foundation launches National Wear Red Day campaign

Celebrities Hannah Waterman, Gemma Atkinson and Jessica Taylor are joining forces with the British Heart Foundation to encourage people to add a touch of red to their outfit on National Wear Red Day on Friday 26 February.
The event, which is part of National Heart Month, is designed to raise funds and increase awareness of heart disease, which is still the UK's biggest killer and costs the NHS just over £625 million.
The celebrities go 'Red for Heart' in a series of photo shoots. Continuing the theme that saw her strip in the West End for Calendar Girls, former Eastenders actress Hannah Waterman poses naked behind a giant red rose, while former Liberty X singer Jessica Taylor, who is married to England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen, poses behind a big red heart. Model and former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson, who lost her father to heart disease, said the cause was close to her heart and asked Brits to show their support by turning out in red.
British Heart Foundation dedicates its funds to research, patient care, campaigning for change and providing vital information about heart disease. Other celebrity supporters include Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, actresses Emma Thompson and Julie Walters and the Osbournes, Sharon and Ozzy.
