Civil servants dissatisfied

Two thirds of civil servants believe their managers are bad decision makers who do not have a clear vision for how to run a country, according to a new survey.

The 'People Survey' of 340,000 civil servants across 96 departments found that just four out of ten respondents felt their organisation was managed well.

Just 36 per cent thought managers had a clear view of the future, while three quarters did not agree that changes were usually made for the better.

But the survey also found that 90 per cent of civil servants find meaning in their work, and three quarters are suitably challenged by their role.
