More than half of creative professionals say that Facebook is their social network of choice, according to a survey released by staffing agency The Creative Group.
Professional social network LinkedIn and Google+ ranked second and third, with 21 per cent and 12 per cent respectively.
Almost three out of ten respondents said that not keeping content up-to-date is the most common error that creative professionals make in their professional online presence.
Donna Farrugia, executive director of The Creative Group, said: 'Social media profiles have become an important branding and marketing tool for creative professionals. Whether the purpose of your account is purely to connect with friends or drum up referrals and job leads, make sure it paints the best picture of you.'
The agency offers several tips to maintaining an engaging presence on social media including sharing content that is most likely to generate comments and likes.
The study involved 500 telephone interviews, and was conducted by an independent research firm.
