A new social media campaign that allows users to create their own pop videos centred around the things that annoy them on a daily basis will be launched tomorrow by car manufacturer Toyota.
The 'outsmart shout out' marketing campaign is designed to promote Toyota's new Yaris model, and aims to engage with a younger audience via social media.
People can submit their complaints to Toyota's Facebook page, or via the #outsmartLIVE hashtag, and the best rants will be recorded by an animated rapper 'Gadget' and a puppet character called 'Slick'. The characters have been featured in previous Yaris advertisements.
Lisa Fielden, brand and digital marketing manager at Toyota, said the television ads have been well received by the younger audience, and that the 'shout out' campaign gives them 'a great piece of content that is fun and sharable'.
Rival car company Honda has joined forces with sweets brand 'Love Hearts' to aid its online marketing efforts. The 'Your Honda, Your Way' campaign sees Love Hearts featured on all its advertising material, and highlights the fact that Honda customers can choose from three incentives when buying a new Jazz, Insight or CR-V model.
