A new campaign that encourages people to discover one of 200 Barclays Spaces for Sports facilities across the UK has been launched by Barclays.
The Barclays Spaces for Sports programme aims to support and invest in local communities, to help disadvantaged people gain confidence and skills to achieve financial independence and security.
The campaign is being endorsed by celebrity actor and musician Idris Elba, best known for his roles in television dramas The Wire and Luther.
To kick-start the campaign, Elba visited the football grounds in London Fields in Hackney where he played in his childhood. He met with local children to share stories about his young sporting achievements, and boasted about his '20 yard screamers'.
Elba also visited the Arsenal Barclays Spaces for Sports site at Rosemary Gardens, in Islington, which has been updated to include astroturf pitches and courts.
