The Energy Ombudsman has launched a campaign in a bid to bring a bit of festive cheer to energy customers.
The independent dispute investigator has penned a special Christmas carol in the style of The Twelve Days of Christmas and posted the song on YouTube.
The video sees Chief Ombudsman Lewis Shand-Smith leading the chorus detailing some of the most common customer grievances.
The ditty lists the twelve wishes of energy customers as: 'Ombudsman awareness, faster problem solving, no rolling contracts, great communication, more meter readings, better information, a simple transfer process, less cold calling, accurate meter readings, simple tariff options, help with our questions and bills we can really understand.'
This year, complaints in the energy industry rose on average by more than a 25 per cent, and since 1 April the energy ombudsman has accepted more than 6,350 complaints.
Complaint figures from campaign group Customer Focus for the period from July to September of this year show an increase in complaints to five of the six largest suppliers.
The energy complaints carol is available to view on YouTube.
