Twitter is rolling out new Facebook-style brand pages as part of the website's redesign, which is being implemented over the next few weeks.
Companies will be able to make use of larger header images for displaying logos, taglines or other marketing visuals.
Twitter says firms will also be able to control the message that visitors see when they land on a company profile page by promoting a tweet at the top of a Twitter timeline.
The site says the promoted tweet on the new profile pages will appear 'auto-expanded' so that visitors can see the photo or video content that are linked to in the tweet.
The new profiles can be in company colours and use company logos.
Twitter is initially launching the enhanced profile pages with 21 advertisers, charities and individuals including American Express, Coca-Cola, Disney, HP and McDonald's.
