A Greek yoghurt maker Yoplait is helping US yoghurt fans with their Greek while raising money for the Feeding America food bank.
Yoplait is encouraging customers to download a smartphone app that will translate greek phrases from its new-style yoghurt pots. For every image that is decoded, one point will be awarded to the Feeding America member food bank, which is a leading hunger-relief charity in the US.
The Yoplait Greek4Good app will also allow users to translate and unlock special Greek messages on its Twitter and Facebook pages, and on a special website.
To decode the Greek message users will need to hold their smartphone up to one of the Greek4Good images and simply watch the characters translate into English.
Users in Chicago and New York will be able to use the app to experience the augmented reality on billboards and posters throughout their cities.
Allison Curran, associate marketing manager for Yoplait Greek, said: 'Utilising a unique interactive application that brings our product to life, we know the Greek4Good programme will entertain users while allowing them to join us for a good cause.'
