Vodafone New Zealand has launched a new marketing campaign which comes in the form of an app, and its customers will be able to enjoy augmented reality features via the app.
Users will see their smartphones light up with music and animation when they point their phones at staff in the Vodafone stores. Vodafone employees will be wearing special T-shirts with music-related graphics on the front that trigger a reaction in the phones.
The app also allows users to play Avalanche City's latest single You and I, and see highlights from last year's awards.
The shirts will be worn by Vodafone retail staff over the next few weeks in the lead up to the New Zealand Music Awards.
Suraiya Phillimore-Smith, general manager of brand and communications at Vodafone, said: 'Today's technology is pretty incredible and we wanted to find a way of connecting our passion for Kiwi music with our love of cool innovation, while having some fun. We know that Android and iPhone users are going to love seeing this in action in Vodafone retail stores. Our staff are going to be flat out standing around as customers point phones at their t-shirts!'
The app created by Smudge Apps and designed for Androids and iPhones.
