A new social media site for students and alumni in Australia, Canada, North America and the UK that has been described as an interactive college yearbook has launched.
FreezeCrowd, which has taken 11 years to develop, allows university students to share photographic memories. The site uses a database of more than two million keywords to 'Freeze Tag' people in photographs, in the hope of finding others who share common interests.
Founder Eric Leebow said: 'Not only will you know who your friends are, but what makes them stand out from the crowd.'
Once students register using their .edu email addresses, they can upload pictures and tag friends. Each friend who has been tagged can then add speech bubbles to the images, offering additional personal information or their recollections of the moment the photo was taken.
A crowd control button allows users to create a visual graph of all the photo-tagged information.
