A new Facebook app that allows users to design their own version of a perfect day in any location around the world has been launched by British Airways.
The 'Perfect Days' application allows users to specify what they would like to happen in a perfect day and to design their schedule with details of both their favourite sights and events.
Users must first click on a country or destination of their choice from a map of the world and then name their perfect day. They can also share photos and other images to illustrate the experience. Other users can share their ideas, and also post comments on the trip.
British Airways cabin crew can also contribute their own experiences and information on dream destinations, which provides users with on-the-ground insight about the best places to visit and the most interesting things to see.
If a user clicks on Rio de Janeiro, for example, a British Airways employee 'tip' pops up that says: 'Join an organised tour of the favelas to see a very different side of Brazil.'
The 'Perfect Days' Facebook page says: 'If there's one thing we know about travelling, it's that to really enjoy a destination you want to make the most of your time there. That's what Perfect Days is all about. We'd like you to tell everyone how you'd spend 24 hours in some of the great cities we fly to. By sharing your personal itinerary you'll inspire others to experience adventures of their own.'
Users will be able to 'Like' the schedules of other users; the ones that receive the most 'Likes' will be displayed on the app. More than 91,500 people have already 'Liked' the Facebook page.
To date, the most popular destinations for 'Perfect Days' include New York, London, Rome, Madrid, Mumbai, Rio de Janeiro and San Francisco.
