A lucky group of 150 aerospace enthusiasts are counting down the days before they attend the final launch of the NASA space shuttle programme.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has invited a random selection of international tweeters, from more than 5,500 online participants, to attend the impending final shuttle launch on 8 July.
The fluky fanatics who follow NASA's Twitter account @nasa, will experience a behind-the-scenes viewing from the Kennedy Space Center. NASA's official Twitter account @nasa has almost 1.2 million followers.
The participants will get a close-up view of the shuttle's launch pad, and will get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to wave off the astronauts before the shuttle launch. Their experience can be followed in real-time via the #NASATweetup hashtag.
This will be the sixth 'Tweetup'. The previous five Twitter groups invited attended the shuttle launches of Atlantis' STS-129 and STS-132, Discovery's STS-133, and Endeavour's' STS-134 mission.
The 150 who will attend the final launch come from different countries from around the globe, which include France, Japan, Ireland, Mexico, the UK, Columbia, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and 44 U.S states.
