Procter & Gamble, the Duracell to Pringles consumer goods manufacturer, has opened six e-stores on social networking site Facebook.
The six online stores will sell seven of P&G's brands, including detergents Tide and Gain; men's grooming products Gillette; women's beauty products Olay and CoverGirl; nappies Luvs and fabric freshener Febreze.
P&G launched its first Facebook store, which showcased 29 of its products, last year. The pilot store was opened in association with Amazon, the biggest online retailer in America.
The stores are not being opened to exclusively offer deals and discounts to consumers but instead to learn more about the evolution of e-commerce, according to blog site Social Commerce Today.
P&G already has an established separate e-store which has a charitable offering whereby donations will be made to the 'Children's Safe Drinking Water Program' if a purchaser collects enough P&G brandSAVERS e-coupons.
