Toyota plans to donate 100 cars to selected not-for-profit organisations who successfully plead their case on the motor company's Facebook page.
Charities are invited to explain what a new Toyota car could mean for them and how it could help them do good within their communities for the chance to win the '100 Cars For Good' scheme, which will award models such as the Prius, Highlander Hybrid and Tacoma to successful entrants.
Organisations supporting mental health such as 'The Counseling Center of Missouri', which encourages positive changes in the lives of individuals and communities, and charities such as 'Girls Incorporated' which promotes healthy living among young girls by teaching independence and improving education, have already entered.
The organisations have called on many platforms to boost their chances, including video submissions, tweets, and as many friends and family members as they could rally to increase their chances of gaining enough votes to make the lucky 100.
Voting began on 9 May 2011, and will continue for 100 days. Five charities are chosen every day and their information published on Toyota's official Facebook page. Followers are invited to vote for one of the five. The cars will be presented in August to the most deserving causes.
