Foursquare finds the rudest city dwellers

Mancunians are the rudest people in the English speaking world closely followed by residents of El Paso in Texas, according to the latest blog from technicians at location-based social network Foursquare.
Using data from more than 400 million check ins last year, Foursquare analysed how often tips contained swear words and found the residents of Manchester were likely to curse in more than 0.016 per cent of all check ins.
Other 'rude' cities include Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, Bloomington in Indiana and Staten Island in New York. But California appears by far the rudest state (both in America and globally), with frequent 'cursing' check ins by the residents of Riverside, Venice, Orange, San Jose, Culver City, Fullerton and Los Angeles.
Melbourne in Australia is the only other non-American city, after Manchester, to make it onto the list.
Foursquare's findings have caused outrage among the residents of the 'cursing cities', with one Mancunian describing them as 'a total load of crap'.
'Jacoliame' added: 'You could not run an analytical analysis correctly. You need to get your fat arses over here and actually meet the people. A more polite and friendly crowd you could wish to meet (sic). We take no shit from computer programmers that do not know their arse from their elbow...'
In response to a complaint about the abusive comment, Jacoliame added: 'You don't do ironic humour, do you?' But , as Thechooz from El Paso, said: 'Who the &^%%@##! cares what Foursquare thinks?'
