Disney staff malign the magic kingdom

All four branches of the US military ranked higher than Disney in a survey of the top 100 US employers by recruitment site CareerBliss.com.
The 2010 BlissIndex ranked employers on the basis of independent reviews rating factors such as job security, benefits, career advancement, work-life balance and senior management.
Disney scored 3.82 out of five across the categories, compared to an average 4.15 for the US Air Force, 4.06 for the Marines, 4.05 for the Navy and 4.04 for the Army.
Behind the fairytale front, there have been suggestions that all is not quite going happily ever after, with some staff berating the Disney empire for low pay, dismissals without due notice and routine understaffing.
Disneyland Paris, the most popular tourist attraction in Europe, has earned the appellation 'Mousewitz' from some employees. Guy-Bruno Mboe, leader of the Disneyland division of French union Force Ouvrière, dubbed working conditions at the park 'brutal', insisting 'it's all about profit, profit, profit' in an interview with the Times, after the suicides of three employees earlier this year.
However, Disney's overall score is still above average, registering 0.48 points above a mean 3.34 out of five across the 100 employers surveyed.
Google topped the league table as the best US employer, with offices boasting an on-site doctor, along with massage, yoga and free lunches for staff - disproving the old American adage 'There ain't no such thing as...', and scoring an average 4.36 out of five across the different assessment criteria.
