Facebook supporters beckon top-of-the-range Audi TT to the US

German car manufacturer Audi is taking its top-of-the-range coupé the TT RS to the US with the endorsement of Facebook fans.
High-performance European two-seater models often fare less well across the pond so even after the car's unveiling last year in Geneva, the market for an American import was still in question.
Audi posted a poll on its Facebook profile asking fans to register their interest. In light of over 11,500 votes of support, the luxury sports car which boasts 360 horsepower and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds will be available stateside by the third quarter of 2011. The exact specifications and pricing are yet to be revealed.
Car manufacturers are increasingly harnessing digital tools to market their products. Audi's Facebook petition follows the launch of the Ford 2011 Explorer on the social networking forum and Seat's online reality TV show Seat Sex Drive.
