PricewaterhouseCoopers launches sustainability audit

Accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has introduced green auditing methods to help achieve carbon cuts for clients and across the firm.
One of the first organisations on the company's books to receive the sustainable audit, Natural England, a public body advising the government on environmental concerns, had an ambitious target of 50 per cent carbon reduction by the end of 2010.
Natural England have removed the need for business travel completely, by exploiting innovative technologies such as video and phone conferencing and online interactive demonstrations. Even those conducting the sustainable audit at PWC are doing so remotely, via email and online conferencing, obtaining screen grabs of relevant data.
PricewaterhouseCoopers is also taking its own environmental footprint in hand, pledging to reduce its carbon emissions by 25 per cent and eliminate waste sent to landfill by 2012.
