The Challenge
We are looking for an Internal Communications Manager for the Corporate Communications Department to play a key role in delivering an integrated program of employee engagement activities that improves communication up, down, and across the organization and supports business objectives. The role will report to the Director of Internal Communications.
The Internal Communications Manager will
Develop plans, manage delivery and assess the impact of major employee engagement activities regarding DSMs strategy, annual results, One DSM, culture change and brand
Work with stakeholders across the business to advise on effective communication practices that will engage employees and meet business objectives
Develop content for use on key internal tools
Organize regular meetings of and actively participate as a member of the internal communications network
Support ad hoc projects/events as required
Play an active role as a senior member of the Corporate Communications team
Design and co-ordinate internal brand engagement activities globally
Activate internally the DSM Employer Value Proposition on a global level.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is able to work in a centralized way supporting the decentralized organization and work across cultures and political (business) boundaries between the Business Groups and regions. The Internal Communications Manager is expected to use emerging communications channels, apply creative solutions and ensure alignment between internal and external communications.
Knowledge & Skills:
University education in Communications
At least 6 years of relevant communications experience, with at least 3 years of Internal Comms experience.
Professional writing and editing skills (English)
Understanding of communications channels
Ability to plan/organize/implement in demanding/complex environment with competing priorities
Able to influence and provide advice/counsel
Excellent interpersonal skills/networking across cultures/regions/BGs
Project management skills
