1 Enter the correct category
Every year a handful of entries lose out because they are in the wrong category
2 State from the outset why the entry deserves to win
Grab the judges’ attention from the outset with a short elevator pitch!
3 Highlight any unique characteristics
Stand out from the crowd by emphasising the entry’s innovativeness
4 Clearly outline the entry’s objective
Make sure the judges know why the campaign or strategy was launched
5 Provide demonstrable results that the entry achieved its goal
It’s not enough to say it was successful. Prove it
6 Write clearly – follow the suggested headings for direction
Try not to waffle. The judges have lots to read and an ill thought out entry may lose their attention
7 Keep within word lengths
The judges have to assess many entries, so don’t go overboard on the prose
8 Avoid spelling mistakes and typos; they demonstrate a lack of attention
They can make the entry stand out for the wrong reason; some judges actually mark down such carelessness
9 Avoid superfluous information
Keep to the point and do not crowd the entry with too many details that detract from its objective and results
10 Choose supporting materials carefully to have more impact
It is not the quantity of materials but the quality
